What It Smells Like
Description: This is a classic Bath & Body Works body care fine fragrance scent that is both fruity and floral. The original notes mention a raspberry note that is present in this fragrance, alongside a sweet apple. The sweetness is then combined with a floral fragrance that is made heavier and deeper by the sandalwood and musk notes. The “creamy musk” does indeed give the sandalwood a creamier, smoother feel that doesn’t come off quite as harsh as the sandalwood in fragrances like Japanese Cherry Blossom. It is worth noting that it is still a “classic perfume” fragrance that leans a bit more on the mature side. There is an interesting sparkling effervescence to this fragrance amidst all of that, that makes it stand out as a unique fragrance that I enjoy.
Comparisons: This is indeed the same fragrance as the original Paris Amour body care that came out originally in 2011. This is around the same time that I started really getting into Bath & Body Works, so I have a very fond nostalgia tied to this fragrance. It is very much a previous generation fruity-floral B&BW body care fragrance along the lines of Pink Chiffon and A Thousand Wishes.
How It Performs
Burn: This has rather large core wicks that mushroom heavily and burn extremely hot. The flames become massive and soot like crazy after only about 2 hours. This always had to be blown out shortly after.
Throw: Great! The original Paris Amour candle from 2012 had real throw issues, but this 2024 version is very strong. The strong floral and sandalwood notes add a real robustness to the projection. At least a 8 out of 10.
Conclusion
After only having seen this as a 3-wick candle back in 2012, I was stoked that this was getting a re-release 12 years later! I think it was a great decision to re-release this as a part of the Emily in Paris collaboration as it fits the theming and already has long-standing recognition. If you enjoy your classic Bath & Body Works body care fragrances in home fragrance, then check this out!
