Sweet Carrot Cake Candle Review - Bath and Body Works
Fan favorite Some Bunny Loves You - Sweet Carrot Cake candle is back from Bath and Body Works this year. But is the throw improved from last year’s version?
What It Smells Like
Description: This smells like a juicy decadent slice of carrot cake complete with a thick layer of cream cheese on top! It’s absolutely delicious. You get a spiced cake reminiscent of their spicy bakery fragrances you find during the fall time. Combine that with a rich serving of cream cheese, complete with the sweetness and that bit of authentic tanginess you get from cream cheese. The sweetness of the cream cheese perfectly balance the spicy carrot cake.
Comparisons: This is indeed the same fragrance of the same name from the past few years. It’s worth noting that the shipment box that this candle once came in did say “Pumpkin Carrot Cake” which is a test fragrance from long ago (that I’ve never had the chance to smell). So you can deduce that this does share similarities to their pumpkin bakery fragrances you find during the fall time. If you enjoy Pumpkin Cupcake from Bath and Body Works, you’ll probably enjoy this one too.
How It Performs
Burn: This has the flat curling wicks that we had on the very first version of Sweet Carrot Cake. It soots like crazy for the first 30 minutes, but once the wick starts developing a mushroom top and starts curling in, the flame is much more controlled. Hot burn per usual.
Throw: Great! Back to its former glory. Last year’s version was made quite weaker, but this throws just like the original from 2021. Fills a room no problem with a delicious carrot cake fragrance and travels nicely. 7 out of 10.
Conclusion
I was bummed that the 2022’s version seemed to have a lighter throw, so I’m glad 2023’s version is back to the original formulation. It throws great and smells delicious. I enjoy that we can essentially get a juicy fall candle in the middle of spring. And with Bath and Body Works having strayed a bit from their usual bakery overload, this is one of your few chances to get a full-blown gourmand this season.
